Only a few years ago the Internet became a commercial medium. Advertisers 'discovered' it and put banners everywhere. We are just ignoring these banners but because there are more and more people that see these banners companies pay more for them. The big portals therefore take the most advertising dollars. The funny thing about a banner is that you can click on it and be taken to the site of the advertiser where you can order stuff. The scary thing is that a lot of Web companies get all their money from advertisers.

WHY INVEST?

Advertising is the hidden force behind many Internet companies. Of course this will shift to E-commerce over time but at this moment a lot of advertising dollars will flow to the Web. You can invest directly in companies that provide online advertising services but investing in a portal is basically investing in advertising growth.
